Detailed Features Index

  • Easy to use Graphical Interface
    • The Wizard Test MakerTM is the product designed by a teacher frustrated with other test generating programs.  He designed it for what he and other teachers like you want. Through years of effort and many helpful suggestions it has evolved into a great program. Its intuitive and entertaining graphical user interface is the key to teacher friendliness. It's more like a game than your typical word processing screens. The WizardTM consists of 8 Suites: The Library; The Study; The Vault; Select Questions; Editing; Reordering; Summary; and Printing Suite. Jumping to any suite is just a mouse click away. To make it even easier there's an extensive Graphical Help Program and an Animated Tour you can take. Once you start using the WizardTM you'll quickly enjoy its pleasant user environment!
  • Multiple Test Creation Methods
    • The Wizard Test MakerTM lets you compose a test in 3 different ways. The first of these is to create tests entering the ID numbers of questions you want. These are found in our Classified Question Catalogue next to the thousands of questions classified and printed there. The second method is to select topics and the number of questions you want from each topic and the Wizard will Randomly Select your questions. Third, you can build a test by Browsing Through the questions in your selected topics on your Screen. A click of the mouse will select the question you are previewing. All questions are filtered down 4 levels of classification so you can choose from a very specific topic. How's this for variety and versatility?
  • Robust Editing Suite
    • The Editing Suite is the most powerful piece of the Wizard Test MakerTM . It is miles above and beyond all other test generators on the market! The Editing Suite allows you to edit existing questions, or add your own in any format, including group questions. You can import supported graphics in the following formats: ".bmp", ".gif", ".pcx", and most ".jpg". These images can then be positioned within the text of your question as descriptions or answers. From here you can export a picture to your favorite graphics program for editing, at which point you can insert your new picture back into the original question. The teacher has complete control over classifying questions using our Family Tree. There are even special characters and formatting designed specifically for your needs. You can allow for answer shuffling. You can do most anything you want!
  • Versatile Select Questions Suite
    • Regardless of how you decide to compose a test, the Wizard Test MakerTM takes you to the Select Questions Suite where you can preview questions in one of two ways - one at a time or in a scrollable grid. When you see a question you want, a mouse click will select it. Also, the teacher can easily change any multiple choice question into a free response or short answer question and set the number of lines or spaces to leave for the answer. One can even customize any question by bringing it into the Editing Suite and then back to be included with your test. If you want to add more questions you can do so in three different ways.
  • Easily Reorder Questions
    • Before printing your exam the Wizard Test MakerTM can bring you to the Summary Wall where you see an overview of the number of questions in each topic. If you've left out some questions or chose too many in any topic, then just jump right back into the Select Questions Suite and add or delete them! From here you can also go to the Reordering Suite where you can view your test and manually rearrange your question order (by click and dragging) so the test prints out exactly as you want it to appear. (Note: Questions can also be randomly reordered in the Printing Suite).
  • Professional Printing Methods
    • Most pages will print out in our two-column printing format which saves you paper and time wasted at the copying machine. However, questions containing large pictures or many lines of text (i.e. reading passages) will automatically print out in one column. Also, our graphics print in 300 dpi for excellent reproduction. (This is our most lauded feature - users tell us it looks practically like the NYS Regents exam!)

With our powerful printing capabilities you will: Randomize Answers and/or Randomize Questions or choose Best Fit (which fits questions within the fewest number of pages possible); print Multiple Versions (with special version footers) print at one time; control the number of spaces or lines to leave after free-response questions; Student Answer Sheet and Teacher Answer Key automatically prints; optional printing of Question Classification and ID numbers; optional printing of Teacher Copy with bold correct answers; And new to the Printing Suite: Multiple Choice Answers can now be made to alternate with each question between ABCD and E(if necessary) and FGHI and J(if necessary)

Formatting Options: Use any printer, font and size; create Two-line First Page Headers and Footers (including a printer setup to raise or lower them exactly where you want them on the test); begin numbering your questions with any number; print only specified pages; change answers to numbers or letters; and, automatic page numbering.
Your colleagues will be so impressed with the professional looking results you can produce, they'll swear its magic! You can just tell them you had some help from a Wizard.
  • Build your Own Database
    • Do you teach a course that we don't as yet have a database for? The Wizard Test MakerTM editing features make adding your own questions simple. Teachers can build and customize their very own classification system in the Family Tree and develop a test bank of questions for the years to come.
  • Multi-User Environment
    • When using a network or a stand-alone computer the Wizard Test MakerTM offers security by requesting a user name and password to enter. This affords the teacher the privacy of saving and recalling only their own tests. Also, questions that are designated Administrator status can be assigned, which then allows a user to edit or delete the Regents questions in our databases.
